Need a Mentor?

Do you have a little one who just got a difficult diagnosis? Did you just get a difficult diagnosis?

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Scared? Guilty? Lost?

Is there no one in your immediate community that has a similar situation to relate to you?

Do you just need someone to talk to who gets what you are going through?

If you answered yes to all or even just one of these questions, then I know exactly how you feel and I have been in your shoes.

I would be honored if you would let me be a part of your journey as a mentor. Just a person for you to talk who is a little further down the road than you are.

This process is like a bad neighborhood. Don't go in alone!

It's so overwhelming when your little one gets diagnosed. It's scary and disorienting. It feels like your entire world has just been thrown upside down. It can make you question and reassess your priorities, your dreams, your values, and your entire life. Having a friend to talk to who gets it can make all the difference in the world - but it's rare that someone in your immediate community fills that description. Someone who understands where you are because she has been there herself.  You don't have to explain or justify what you are feeling - I already get it.  We can talk about whatever you want to talk about. No pressure. Whatever you need. I just want to be there for you however I can and pray with you. I won't sugarcoat things, but I will listen and encourage you. You are not alone.

This is not a paid service. I am not a professional in that sense. I have no certifications or "credentials."  This is just my small way of trying to help a fellow parent out. If you find yourself in need of a listening ear, a mentor, or a praying companion, please get in touch with me.  I would love to hear from you and try to be there for you.

Your sister in Christ,

Colleen
